Montgomery County police launch homicide investigation after a woman dies following Silver Spring shooting.
SILVER SPRING, Md. — Montgomery County police are investigating a homicide in Silver Spring after a woman died at the hospital.
Police responded to the scene of a shooting in the 3000 block of Memory Lane around 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
Shortly after police arrived, they found a woman suffering from gunshot wounds.
Emergency personnel provided care and the woman was transported to a local hospital. Around 8:45 p.m., however, police said that the woman died from her injuries and they were now investigating the incident as a homicide.
According to police, the suspect is a male who knew the victim. They say he shot the victim inside the home and then left.
Police are searching for the suspect, but they have not identified him.
