Sunday forecast: Mostly sunny with seasonable temperatures in Chicagoland

Clocks will fall back an hour Sunday morning as Daylight Saving Time ends, allowing for an extra hour of sleep and an earlier sunset.

Sunday will bring a mix of sun and clouds across Chicagoland, with more sunshine than overcast skies. Temperatures will feel seasonable, with highs climbing into the mid-50s.

There is a chance for a light shower Sunday night, but rain chances remain low and coverage will be sparse, with only about 20-30% of the metro area seeing any precipitation.

Extended Outlook

A couple chances for spotty showers in coming days, but organized rainfall is not likely.

Area rainfall generally on the light side, less than a quarter inch and will do little to help the drought conditions.

A warm-up commences early next week, including at least one day in the 60s.

A large swath of above normal temperatures covers the entire Western U.S. eastward into the Plains and Midwest.

The map below mirrors the previous graphic which depicts a large portion of the U.S. favoring above normal temperatures with near normal conditions across the Northeast.
