HGTV Dream Home 2026: Lake Wylie luxury waterside retreat

HGTV has revealed its Dream Home 2026, and it’s tucked just outside Charlotte on the shores of Lake Wylie.

The lakeside retreat features grand living spaces, a gourmet kitchen and multiple bedroom suites, according to photos of the property provided by HGTV. The extensive outdoor living area, which boasts a large backyard and a two-story dock, offers waterfront access and leisure space.

Construction on the home began in early 2024, and the project team has been sharing the full evolution online, from foundation and framing to finishing touches. The HGTV website features a detailed time-lapse photo gallery that shows the house gradually taking shape, complete with landscaping and lakeside views.

The residence is part of HGTV’s annual giveaway, with entries opening Dec. 16.

This year marks the second time HGTV’s Dream Home has featured a property in the Tar Heel State. The 2006 Dream Home was situated in the resort community of Lake Lure at Grey Rock in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
