Pickup goes 80 feet down Washington County ravine

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Emergency crews used a complex rope rescue to bring a critically injured person out of a full-size pickup that went about 80 feet down a ravine in rural Washington County.

The emergency rescue began around 4 p.m. Sunday, TVF&R officials said. Extra crews were called in to help stabilize the pickup and perform the rope rescue.

After the injured person was finally removed from the truck and brought up the ravine, Life Flight took that person to an area trauma center.

The name of the person has not been released, nor has the extent of the injuries.

Crews from Dundee Fire helped in the operation.

The cause of the crash in under investigation.
