The recall spans across three labels: El Mas Fino, Los Cabos and Midamar.
WASHINGTON — M.C.I. Foods Inc. recalled roughly 91,585 pounds of ready-to-eat frozen breakfast burritos and wraps containing eggs due to a possible Listeria contamination.
The Santa Fe Springs, California based company says the frozen breakfast burritos and wraps were made between Sept. 17 and Oct. 14, 2025.
They span across three labels: El Mas Fino, Los Cabos and Midamar and have an “establishment number” of EST. 1162A or P-5890A on the packaging.
The contamination was found during routine sampling of the “scrambled egg component,” according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service.
Some of these recalled burritos are included in the USDA’s National School Lunch and Breakfast Programs, according to the recall.
No illnesses have been reported in connection to the recall, but health officials encourage people with symptoms to contact their healthcare provider.
Listeria infections can be especially dangerous for children, pregnant women, adults over 65 and people with weakened immune systems. The bacteria can cause listeriosis, a serious infection that may lead to fever, muscle aches, headaches, stiff neck, confusion and loss of balance.
For pregnant women, listeria can cause miscarriages, stillbirths or life-threatening infections in newborns. While less common, healthy adults outside high-risk groups can also become ill.
People in high-risk categories who develop flu-like symptoms within two months of eating contaminated food should seek medical attention and inform their healthcare provider about the potential exposure.
The recall encourages people to throw the frozen products away. Anyone with questions can contact M.C.I. Foods Inc. at 888-345-5364.
