While Indigenous Peoples’ Day is not a federal holiday in California, the Golden State still recognizes it, while it does not observe Columbus Day, according to the Pew Research Center.

Nevertheless, there will still be closures of certain offices throughout the state.

The Post Office will be closed, along with multiple bank offices and financial centers, including Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Capital One and more.

Federal government offices are currently closed due to the shutdown, but they would have been expected to close for the holiday.

Meanwhile, UPS and FedEx will still be in service, but with possible delays, according to their websites.

Some school districts will be closed; therefore, it is recommended to check the local school district’s website to confirm.

Most retailers and restaurants will be open, along with the DMV, stock market and public transit.
