PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — An on-duty Portland police officer was hospitalized after a car crashed into his vehicle while he was still inside Saturday afternoon.
Just after 3:30 p.m., an officer reported to dispatch that his vehicle had been hit at North Schmeer Road and Denver Avenue.
Because the officer’s airbags deployed, he was taken to a hospital by ambulance, then was later released.
Police said the other driver involved was not injured.
No arrests were made and no citations were given, officials said.
No further information, including the cause of the crash, has been released at this time.
