The Bourne Bridge is closed in both directions Sunday afternoon after a multi-vehicle crash, according to local police.
Massachusetts State Police confirmed they were called in for the crash around 1 p.m. One person who was trapped inside a vehicle was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Police did not say if anyone else was hurt.
Route 28 is closed at the bridge, which connects Cape Cod to the rest of the state. The Massachusetts Department of Transportation said the closure is expected to last several hours.
Bourne Police also responded to assist.
