One of NASA’s latest astronaut candidates is a Columbia County native.
Dr. Imelda Muller joins nine others selected from a pool of more than 8,000 applicants from across the United States.
The 34-year-old is from Copake Falls and graduated from Taconic Hills High School. Muller went on to become a doctor and spent time with the U.S. Navy as an undersea medical officer.
Muller and the rest of the class will undergo two years of training before becoming eligible for flight assignments.
