UC Davis Aggies aim for a fourth consecutive home win as they host Northern Arizona for their homecoming game today.
DAVIS, Calif. — The UC Davis Aggies will look to host the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks for their homecoming game at Aggie Stadium today at 4 p.m. in week 3 of Big Sky Conference play.
Game Preview
With the second Big Sky win already in hand, No. 6 UC Davis now turns its head to their homecoming game against No. 14 Northern Arizona Lumberjacks.
For the 10th time in program history, and the first since 2023, the UC Davis Aggies and Northern Arizona Lumberjacks are set to clash once again in a growing Big Sky rivalry.
UC Davis holds a 3-1 home record against NAU and aims to stretch that streak to four straight wins tomorrow night.
For the second time in four years, UC Davis will host Northern Arizona in its Homecoming matchup.
The Aggies have thrived on Homecoming in recent years, winning five of their last six games and outscoring opponents throughout that stretch.
Northern Arizona quarterback Ty Pennington threw for 210 yards in the loss, his lowest total since Week 1, but still ranks third nationally in passing yards with 1,557.
Pennington has thrown nine touchdowns against just two interceptions, giving him a 4.5-to-1 touchdown-to-interception ratio — third-best in the Big Sky behind Idaho’s Joshua Wood and UC Davis’ Caden Pinnick.
A victory in today’s game would give UC Davis its fourth straight win, and it would also end a one-game skid against Northern Arizona and secure its first win over the Lumberjacks since 2022.
Aggies Last Week
After a close ending game last weekend against Cal Poly Mustangs, the Aggies were able to pull through in the last quarter to take control of the Golden Horsehoe for the ninth-straight game.
Redshirt freshman quarterback Caden Pinnick delivered a standout performance, throwing for a career-best 313 yards while completing 21 of 26 passes.
He added 60 rushing yards and another score on the ground, totaling 373 yards of offense and four touchdowns overall.
On defense, Jayden Stanley and Jackson Sievers each posted career highs with 11 tackles — the first double-digit tackle games of their careers.
Wide receiver Zach Jones ran in two of Pinnick’s touchdown passes, finishing with three receptions for 50 yards.
For the second week in a row, Caden Pinnick delivered another noticeable performance, guiding the Aggies to a road win over Cal Poly and earning Co-Big Sky Offensive Player of the Week honors.
It marks the second straight week Pinnick has received the award and his third weekly award of the season; he was previously recognized as the Stats Perform National Freshman Player of the Week after his standout Week 1 performance.
