$2M scratch-off winner buys ticket in northwest suburbs

ELGIN, Ill. — An Illinois Lotter player has won the $2 million jackpot off a scratch-off ticket in the northwest suburbs.

The winner, who is remaining anonymous under the name ‘Nelly Chava,’ bought the winning $20 Multiplier Madness scratch-off ticket at Geno’s Fine Wine and Spirits, located at 300 South McLean Boulevard in Elgin.

An Illinois Lottery player, who chose to remain anonymous under the name ”Nelly Chava,” recently claimed a $2 million top prize from a $20 scratch-off ticket.

“I’ve always loved the Multiplier Madness ticket because of the big jackpot,” said Chava. “I pick it every time I play, but I never thought it would actually make me a millionaire!”

The winning moment happened at home with family. Chava said it was hard to believe it was real.

“I didn’t know it was real,” Chava recalled. “I double-checked the ticket, saw the prize amount, but still couldn’t believe it.”

Once the reality of the win set in, Chava couldn’t stop smiling. “I want to buy a house and surprise my kids with the little things they’ve always wished for.”

Geno’s Fine Wine and Spirits will receive a retailer bonus of $20,000, or 1% of the prize amount., for selling the winning ticket.
