(FOX40.COM) — The man who was arrested in connection with the shooting at ABC10 television on Friday afternoon has been released after posting $200,000 bail on Saturday.
On Friday afternoon, the Sacramento Police Department confirmed an unknown suspect had fired gunshots at ABC’s local news affiliate in Sacramento. When officers arrived at the scene, they found three gunshots into a window of the building.
Police said one person was in the lobby at the time shots were fired; however, no one was hurt.
Anibal Hernandezsantana, 64, of Sacramento, who neighbors describe as “a very quiet man,” was arrested on early Saturday morning in the 5400 block of Carlson Drive after SPD identified the suspect’s vehicle.
The suspect was charged with assault with a deadly weapon, shooting into an occupied building and negligent discharge of a firearm.
FOX40 spoke to a man named William, who has been living in that complex for 8 years and stated Hernandezsantana was not a violent person.
“He’s watched, boxing with us, and is really calm. So, we don’t understand what’s going on. We’re all confused about this,” William said.
Officials said officers arrested Hernandezsantana from his first-floor apartment unit.
At this time, SPD said the motive remains under investigation and thanked the FBI for providing resources that helped in the investigation.
