San Francisco hosts Super Bowl LX 'kickoff discussion'

SAN FRANCISCO (KTXL) – In two days, the San Francisco 49ers will host the Arizona Cardinals in their home opener. In five months, the 49ers will host Super Bowl LX.

It has been ten years since the Bay Area last hosted a Super Bowl. That will change on February 8 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara.

“One of the things that I love so much about the Bay Area and the NFL connection is your spirit of innovation,” said NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, who was in San Francisco on Friday morning. “Of never being settled, and never saying that we’re good enough. You’re always reinventing yourself.”

Super Bowl 50 was called the most philanthropic Super Bowl ever. On Friday, the plan for Super Bowl LX was revealed. It will include an innovation summit at San Francisco’s Museum of Modern Art during Super Bowl week, to bring art, sports and technology together.

“There is no bigger game on the planet than the Super Bowl. We’re honored to host it. We’re gonna work our tails off,” said San Francisco mayor Daniel Lurie. “And we’re gonna show the world that San Francisco is not only on the rise but we’re once again the greatest city in the world.”
