GLENS FALLS, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The Kiwanis Club of Glens Falls is holding a celebration at Glens Falls’ Crandall Park on September 21 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to mark its 100th anniversary. The celebration will include a “Duck Drop,” as well as games, activities, food vendors and live entertainment.

For the Duck Drop, hundreds of rubber ducks will be dropped onto a large target with the closest ducks winning prizes from local businesses. The drop will be replacing the traditional duck race.

According to the Kiwanis Club of Glens Falls, $2,025 in cash prizes will be awarded in total. Raffle tickets will be at $5 each, giving attendees the chance to win prizes while supporting local causes.

“Our club has been dedicated to serving children and families in the Greater Glens Falls area for a century,” said Jerrod Ogden, President of the Kiwanis Club of Glens Falls. “The Duck Drop is a fun way to bring the community together while raising funds that directly benefit kids, families, and organizations in our region.”

Admission to the event is free. All proceeds from the Duck Drop raffle will go to support the Greater Glens Falls Senior Citizens Center, Inc., Glens Falls Kiwanis Foundation, Inc., Big Brothers/Big Sisters of the Southern Adirondacks, WAIT House, and Scouting America Troop/Cub Scout Pack 6016 (Queensbury, NY).
