Teen arrested, charged with bringing gun to Wake County charter school

A teen was charged on Friday after police said he brought a gun to school earlier in the month.

According to the Zebulon Police Department, staff at East Wake Academy were notified through the “Say Something” app of a gun on the campus. Police officers went to the school and did not find any weapons on the person or on the campus on Friday.

Officers said during their investigation, detectives learned that 18-year-old Logan Scott Rolison had previously brought a gun onto school property on Sept. 4.

Officers arrested Rolison on Friday and charged him with possession of a firearm on educational property.

The Wake County Public School System began using the Say Something app during the 2024-2025 school year. The app allows students, staff and parents to alert school leaders on anything that impacts school safety, from bullying and cyberbullying to drugs, weapons or a planned school attack.

“We would like to thank East Wake Academy for employing the Say Something app and using it effectively today,” the police department said on Facebook.
