Champions League acca: A 19/1 four-fold for Wednesday

[ad_1]

Six mouth-watering ties are scheduled for the second night of Champions League league phase action, as Chelsea tackle a daunting trip to Bayern Munich, while Liverpool entertain Atlético Madrid at Anfield.

Newcomers Pafos make the short trip across the Mediterranean to face Olympiacos, while Slavia Prague and Bodø/Glimt clash in Wednesday’s other early kick-off.

Elsewhere, holders Paris Saint-Germain meet Atalanta in the French capital and Ajax take on last season’s beaten finalists Inter Milan at the Johan Cruyff Arena.

At odds of just over 19/1, the stats suggest our fourfold accumulator offers plenty of value, read on to learn more.

Wednesday Champions League accumulator tips

  • Olympiacos vs. Pafos – Olympiacos to win and BTTS-No @ 6/5

  • Liverpool vs. Atlético Madrid – Liverpool to win @ 3/5

  • Ajax vs. Inter Milan – Inter to win and over 2.5 goals @ 17/10

  • PSG vs. Atalanta – PSG -1 handicap @ 23/20

    Acca pays @ 19.43/1

Olympiacos vs. Pafos – Olympiacos to win and BTTS-No @ 6/5

Pafos’ only previous continental campaign came in last season’s Conference League, when they were eliminated at the Round of 16 stage.

The step up to Europe’s flagship club competition will undoubtedly be tough, but the Cypriot minnows will be buoyed by the fact opponents Olympiacos have lost 16 of their last 20 Champions League fixtures.

Nevertheless, the Piraeus-based outfit have more than enough quality in their ranks to secure all three points.

No player has scored more European goals over the past two seasons than Moroccan marksman Ayoub El Kaabi, who found the net 21 times during his recent exertions in the Europa and Conference Leagues.

Expect the hosts to emerge triumphant in this one.

Liverpool vs. Atlético Madrid – Liverpool to win @ 3/5

Although many will expect Liverpool to dispatch their Spanish opponents on Wednesday night, the Reds certainly won’t have it easy.

Atlético Madrid lost just one of their last 10 opening Champions League fixtures, succumbing to Bayern at the Allianz Arena in 2020.

A seriously well-organised unit, Los Colchoneros have kept a clean sheet in 42% of their Champions League outings under the stewardship of Diego Simeone – no other coach leading a Spanish side into 50 or more matches in this competition boasts a better defensive record.

The Merseysiders won all four of last season’s Champions League contests at Anfield, a sequence that included a 2-0 victory over Real Madrid.

Furthermore, the Reds overcame Atléti in each of the last two meetings between these two European heavyweights, which both came in the autumn of 2021.

Ajax vs. Inter Milan – Inter to win and over 2.5 goals @ 17/10

The omens don’t look good for the hosts. Ajax have only won three of their last 25 encounters with Italian opposition, recording just three clean sheets in the process.

With an inexperienced manager at the helm in John Heitinga and plenty of supporter unrest in recent months, the 36-time Eredivisie champions seem unlikely to reverse that trend any time soon.

Inter Milan have enjoyed playing representatives of the Netherlands more than those from any other country, having never been beaten in any of their previous 12 meetings with Dutch sides in the Champions League.

The Nerazzurri have recorded 20 clean sheets in Europe’s top-tier club competition over the previous three seasons – more than any other team – and will be eager to banish the memories of their 5-0 thrashing by PSG in last season’s final.

PSG vs. Atalanta – PSG -1 handicap @ 23/20

The bookmakers expect PSG to record a comfortable victory at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday evening, with all the evidence endorsing this claim.

Luis Enrique has the best win percentage of any manager who has overseen 50 or more fixtures in the Champions League, finding himself in celebratory mood at the conclusion of 64.5% of his 62 matches in charge.

Over the past three decades, only one reigning Champions League holder has lost the first match of their title defence, when Liverpool were beaten 2-0 at Napoli at the start of the 2019/20 campaign.

Atalanta did manage to make it through to the knockout phases of last season’s competition, but were eliminated by Belgian outfit Club Brugge in the last 32.
