Gunshot fired in Fairfield High parking lot during after-school fight, police say

The Fairfield Police Department is investigating a fight and shooting that was reported in the parking lot of Fairfield High School.

FAIRFIELD, Calif. — A gunshot was fired during an after-school fight on Tuesday in the parking lot of Fairfield High School, according to the Fairfield Police Department. 

Police said the fight and shooting were reported shortly after 3:30 p.m. Three officers arrived at the school within a minute of the call, followed by additional officers who secured the campus. 

Investigators determined at least one gunshot was fired at an occupied vehicle connected to the fight. Police said no one is believed to have been hit. 

There is no active threat to students on campus or after-school activities, police said. 

The incident remains under investigation.
