As Downton Abbey is making a triumphant return this month with the much-anticipated film, Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale, new research has delved into who the public believes is the ultimate Downton bachelor.
Online casino Betway compared the male stars of the show, cross-referencing peak five-year monthly search volume, the volume of Reddit comments and those that were positive, their average IMDb ratings, and social media followings.
In first place is Dan Stevens, who played Matthew Crawley. Dan received a total of 109,000 monthly searches and an IMDb rating of 6.66. However, he made his way to the top after bagging the highest attractiveness rating of 9.12 as well as the highest social media following of 670,157.

Robert James-Collier and Ed Cooper Clarke followed behind, after portraying their roles of characters Thomas Barrow and Timothy Grey. While Ed had only 5,000 monthly searches and 27 Reddit comments altogether, he had a stronger number of social media followers and an IMDb rating of 6.71. Meanwhile, Robert had a higher monthly search volume and a positive sentiment score of 56.7.
