A romantic display drew attention on Alki Beach Wednesday night as a young man brought his love interest to the beach to reveal his question.

People driving on Alki Ave SW on Wednesday night were slowing down and people strolling by were stopping at an unusual sight. On the sand stood a large scale heart outline made of fresh roses with pillows, a blanket, electric candles, a bottle of Martinelli’s cider, cake, and most importantly, the words BE MY GIRLFRIEND spelled out in illuminated letters.
The romantic display was created by a young man named Anthony who was driving his (potential) girlfriend Oxcisis to the beach at sunset for the reveal. She sweetly agreed to be blindfolded and two of Anthony’s friends helped by setting up the display and helping guide her.
“I had no idea about this” she said shortly after seeing his grand gesture.
Did she agree to be his girlfriend?
The answer is yes.
