Father arrested after child found dead in car, deputies say

A child was pronounced dead after being found unresponsive in a car in View Park, and the child’s father was arrested for involuntary manslaughter and child neglect.

VIEW PARK-WINDSOR HILLS, Calif. (KABC) — A father has been arrested after his child was found unresponsive in a car in View Park.

The child was found around 3:10 p.m. Tuesday outside of a home in the 3800 Block of Chanson Drive.

Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies responded to a call of a child not breathing. The child was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to records from the medical examiner’s office, the child was 1 year old.

The child’s father, Edwin Johnson, was arrested for involuntary manslaughter and child neglect.
