(FOX40.COM) — An 18-year-old man was arrested after a traffic stop uncovered illegal drugs and weapons, according to the Sutter County Sheriff’s Office.

Shortly after midnight, SCSO conducted a traffic stop on a speeding vehicle in the area of Celestial Way in Yuba City. As deputies approached the vehicle, they said they detected a strong odor of marijuana. A subsequent search of the vehicle led to the discovery of about 18 grams of marijuana, a Glock 23 handgun equipped with a drum magazine, and several additional magazines, according to SCSO.
The driver, identified by law enforcement as Daniel Martinez, 18, of Marysville, was arrested. He was booked into the Sutter County Jail and faces multiple charges related to firearms, ammunition, and narcotics.
