Three points about III Points | Featured#

III Points is back once again, everybody. Let me try to break it into three fundamental points.

First of all, this year’s serious heat features Peggy Gou, Sean Paul, and Denzel Curry shattering eardrums, Thundercat’s bass vibes, Turnstile’s hardcore energy, and Tinashe’s sultriness. On top of that so we won’t forget, Mk.gee’s genre-bending guitar work, Ca7riel & Paco Amoroso’s Latin-electronic fusion, Bicep’s techno mastery, and Black Coffee’s soulful beats will also draw masses of Sofla folks looking for that big concert vibe.

Mana Wynwood will be a wild ride, with more than 100 acts, 12 stages, and several blocks.

Since this festival’s got something for every music lover, year after year, devotees don’t want to miss it. III Points has been doing it since 2013, with exceptions in 2018 and 2020, and continues to be one of the most anticipated events in Miami. Everyone is getting older though.

Like me who’s been around the block a few times, having enjoyed some of the biggest festivals in the world, including III Points, Glastonbury, and even the legendary Woodstock, I can tell you that this year’s III Points is gonna be something wild, the opposite of those intimate Tiny Desk concerts where some of these acts have performed. In any case, nothing quite like it here.

Second, let’s take a trip down memory lane and look at III Points’ rich history. From its humble beginnings as a small music festival in Wynwood to its current status as a massive event attracting thousands of music lovers worldwide, III Points has come a long way. The festival’s founders succeeded in creating a unique experience that combines music, art, culture, plus a bunch of other stuff your parents just wouldn’t understand unless they are on medical marijuana.

III Points has become known for an eclectic lineup, featuring an ever-changing range of genres and artists. Some notable artists in III Points history include LCD Soundsystem, James Blake, Erika Badu, Khruangbin, Iggy Pop, Busta Rhymes, A$AP Rocky, SZA, Tame Impala, Gorillaz, Rosalia, Thee Sacred Souls, and Herbie Hancock. There are dozens more who are notable but space says you can use AI to look it up yourself.

Third – the details. Today, III Points is definitely one of the most anticipated events in Miami, attracting thousands from all over the world. And with its 11th edition just around the corner, it’s clear that this festival is on solid ground aside from two small concerns: weather and punctuation uncertainty. The weather is out of my hands, but how can I learn how to punctuate iiipoints, or should I say IIIPoints, or change the font altogether. I need a style guide.

Mark your calendars for October 17-18.
