A chase involving three vehicles ended in a crash on Jones Sausage Road in Garner on Friday afternoon.
Sky 5 captured two SUVs that had apparently collided into each other near the intersection with Auburn Church Road.
One person was arrested and an NCSHP representative said a gun may have been involved.
“There are allegations that the violator may have been armed, which is why the pursuit continued and crossed into Wake County,” said Sgt. Marcus Bethea with the NCSHP. “…If somebody is alleged to be armed, we certainly want to handle that as best as we can and make sure there’s no threat to the public.”
Highway Patrol did not confirm if they found a weapon at the crash site.
North Carolina State Highway Patrol said three vehicles were involved and Johnston County deputies were engaged in the pursuit. Viewer video showed smoke rising from one of the SUVs.
It’s not known what caused the chase, which started in Johnston County and ended in Wake County. The suspect and another person were treated for minor injuries, according to highway patrol.
A tractor-trailer was parked beside the SUVs and also involved.
The scene cleared around 4:50 p.m. Highway patrol, Raleigh police and Johnston County Sheriff’s Office and Wake EMS responded.
