Amazon Prime Invitee (Benefits Sharing) Program Ending
Amazon is ending a valuable benefit for Prime members. The Prime Invitee program is going away and replaced by Amazon Family which is much more limited in terms of who you can share benefits with.
Prime benefit sharing through the Prime Invitee program will end on 1 October 2025. Prime invitees will lose access to the shared Prime delivery benefit. This program allowed Prime members to add up to 4 adults to their membership and they could even have different addresses from the primary Prime member.
Now with Amazon Family, Prime members can share Prime benefits and digital content with one other adult , up to four teens (who were added before April 7, 2025), and up to four children.
An Amazon Prime membership now costs $14.99 per month or $139 per year, after first launching 20 years ago at just $79/year. It now offers many other perks besides free shipping. But not everyone has to pay full price, or needs to get Amazon Prime at all. Check out your options.
