DENVER (KDVR) — Committee positions are open for community members interested in advising a Colorado agency on accessibility and serving customers with disabilities.
In a press release on Wednesday, the Regional Transportation District announced it is looking to fill five positions within the agency’s Advisory Committee for People with Disabilities.
The advisory committee provides RTD with suggestions, ideas and feedback regarding the Americans with Disabilities Act, which prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities in everyday activities, including employment, public accommodations, commercial facilities, transportation and telecommunications.
RTD said the advisory committee also strengthens its commitment to accessibility and providing safe and reliable transportation for all customers.
The Advisory Committee for People with Disabilities reports to an RTD’s internal ADA steering committee.
The five positions will be for a two-year term and be part of a 13-member committee, said RTD. The advisory committee is expected to have quarterly meetings annually and two meetings with RTD’s Access-a-Ride Paratransit Advisory Committee.
Those interested in applying for a position or learn more about the advisory committee can head to RTD’s website.
