The Swedish Royal Family held a magnificent Banquet for King Harald, Queen Sonja and Crown Prince Haakon of Norway at the Royal Palace of Stockholm on this day in 2005, 20 years ago, few months after their own visit to Noway for the Norwegian Centennial.
King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden held the Banquet for King Harald V, Queen Sonja, and Crown Prince Haakon of Norway at the Royal Palace of Stockholm among the year-long celebrations to mark the Centenary of the independent Kingdom of Norway, which also included the Swedish Royal Visit to Norway, State Visits to Britain and Denmark and a splendid Ball at the Royal Palace of Oslo. Prince Charles of Denmark, who was married to Princess Maud of Wales, was elected the King of Norway in 1905, taking the regnal name of King Haakon VII, after the Kingdom got rid of the personal union with the Swedish Monarchy and became an independent Kingdom.

Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit joined King Harald V and Queen Sonja as they received King Carl XVI Gustaf, Queen Silvia and Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden to open the new Svinesund bridge between Norway and Sweden.
In the evening, the Norwegian Royal Family hosted a State Banquet at the Royal Palace of Oslo in honour of King Carl XVI Gustaf, Queen Silvia and Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden.
Queen Silvia wore Queen Sofia’s Nine Prong Tiara.
Queen Sonja was in Queen Josefina’s Diamond Tiara.
Crown Princess Victoria wore the Baden Fringe Tiara.
