Man charged in morning shooting at Raleigh apartment complex

A 35-year-old man was arrested at the scene, police said.

RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) — One person was shot Sunday morning in Raleigh at an apartment complex. By Sunday afternoon, Raleigh Police said an arrest had been made.

RPD told ABC11 that officer responded to the 400 block of E. Davie Street near downtown. The victim was shot one time and had what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Leslie Maurice Buford, 35, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to seriously injure, discharge firearm in city limits, and possession of a stolen weapon.

Police said Buford was questioned at the scene and subsequently took him into custody.

The shooting appeared to be an isolated incident. RPD added.
