Our Labor Day weekend continues to bring us the perfect weather as we celebrate an awesome summer and transition into fall.
Meteorological fall begins on Monday, Sept. 1. Astronomical fall, aka the autumnal equinox, is on Sept. 22.
Highs today and tomorrow stay in the upper 70s inland, low 70s at the coast with sea breezes in the afternoon. Many of the beaches or coastal towns stay in the 60s for the day thanks to that east wind.
Tonight’s lows fall to the 40s in the suburbs, 50s in the city centers.
More clouds rolls through on Monday, but we keep it dry then and until Friday. A cold front approaches Thursday night into Friday, swinging in our only chance for rain or storms in the 10-day forecast.
The tropics are also very quiet at this time. There is a wave off the coast of Africa that has a low chance of developing into a storm in the next week. And nothing else is brewing so this weekend for boating or swimming is much better and safer than last weekend with the offshore hurricane in the northern Atlantic.
The pollen count remains high for the pollen from weeds in the air. Lack of rainfall and dry weather means the pollen spores from ragweed, nettle, etc. can travel far distances in the wind and cause fall hay fever.
Our next chance for rain holds off until maybe the end of next week. In the meantime, enjoy the great dry stretch with warm afternoons and cool nights.
