LEXINGTON, N.C. (WTVD) — A North Carolina man is in jail facing charges for felony bigamy and investigators believe there could be more victims.
The investigation started in April 2025 after a report was filed with the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators with the sheriff’s office say they uncovered that Harry Burdick Jr. had three marriage licenses for three different women.
They say the marriage licenses show that he had a wife in three different counties in the state: Lincoln, Davidson and Guilford.
Detectives said they found no proof that he ever divorced any of the women before marrying another one.
On Friday, August 22, Burdick was arrested and charged with two counts of felony bigamy.
Financial and personal gain are the believed motives for Burdick.

According to investigators, there could be more victims, and they would like them to come forward.
If you or someone you know has been legally married without a divorce from Harry Burdick Jr., the sheriff’s office would like to talk to you. They ask that you call Detective Foushee at (336) 236-3365.
Burdick is scheduled to make his first appearance in late September at the Davidson County Courthouse.
