J.Crew under fire for alleged use of AI models

The popular retailer, J. Crew, is facing criticism for what some are speculating are AI generated images promoting their brand.

Some recent photos look just like J. Crew ads of the past, but they may not be real.

The website “Blackbird Spyplane” pointed out glitches in the clothing and photo distortions.

In a statement released to the Cut, J. Crew said it’s exploring new forms of creative expression and experimenting with different art mediums.

Critics are concerned the AI models are cutting out workers who would otherwise get paid.

Earlier this month, a Guess faced similar criticism after an ad in Vogue.
