Sparks fly as firefighters from the Los Angeles Fire Departments Station 94 use a rotary saw to gain access to a field fire along the 36-hundred block of Crenshaw Boulevard. The blaze broke out just before 10:30, Thursday morning, just behind the Walgreens and Starbucks, across from one United Bank. No one was hurt in the fire, but it is under investigation. It took about a dozen firefighters to knock down the fire, but teams remained on scene for hours to watch for any hot spots and flare-ups as temperatures soared into the mid to upper 90s. Fire teams have been on high alert across the city because of the extended heatwave hitting the city. Officials are asking residents to stay on high alert and report any fire they see by calling 9-1-1 immediately.
