37-year-old Michael Keith Rubino allegedly used his iPhone to record himself engaging in sexually explicit conduct with a 17-year-old girl who lived with him for around six weeks in 2024, according to the U.S. District Attorney’s Office.

The man originally told law enforcement officers that he never engaged in sexual conduct with the teen after she was admitted to a local hospital, despite knowing that he had done so when she was seventeen.

Rubino is scheduled to be sentenced on Nov. 11, where he faces a mandatory minimum penalty of 15 years in prison with a maximum penalty of 30 years, as well as a $250,000 fine, according to officials.
