Temperatures Fall Back To Start Workweek – WCCB Charlotte’s CW

[ad_1]

Keep the umbrella handy on Election Day Tuesday – a few showers will roll through the Carolinas as you head to the polls.

After a beautiful Saturday, November’s first weekend is ending on a cooler and cloudier note. Expect below-average temperatures to continue into the workweek as northeasterly winds and mostly cloudy skies keep their foothold in the Carolinas. Some patchy fog and drizzle may greet us in the morning, but most locations will remain dry as highs struggle to clear the lower 60s northwest of I-85. The Queen City and areas southeastward could see highs closer to 70º Monday afternoon. Winds shift out of a more southeasterly direction by Election Day Tuesday, which will bring warmer air into our area, but will also lead a few isolated showers into the Carolinas as folks head to the polls. Highs will largely end up in the mid-to-lower 70s across the Piedmont and Foothills for the second day of the workweek.

Mostly cloudy skies and isolated shower chances stick around through midweek, but highs around Charlotte should remain above normal in the mid-70s. A weak cold front approaches from the west by the end of the week, which will only continue the trend of meager rain chances and increased cloud coverage. We’ll also want to keep a close eye on the tropics around this timeframe, as a potential named storm may end up in the Gulf of Mexico.

Tonight: Cool and cloudy. Low: 52°. Wind: NE 5-15.

Monday: Mostly cloudy with a stray shower or two. High: 65°. Wind: NE 5-15.

Monday Night: Clouds remain. Isolated showers late. Low: 58°. Wind: NE 5-10.

Tuesday: Mixed clouds and sun with a few showers. High: 74°. Wind: SE 5-10.
