Charlotte Hornets unveil new court for NBA Cup – At The Hive

[ad_1]

The Charlotte Hornets (and the rest of the NBA) officially unveiled their courts for the 2024 iteration of the NBA Cup. The inaugural tournament was a big hit with fans and players with the most popular complaint being the gaudiness of the court. The courts are going to be gaudy again, but they seem to be a little easier on the eye this time. Plus we’re used to it.

The common theme with the courts this year is a subtle circular pattern that expands away from the center logo. Each team has an individualized pattern that captures their brand along with that. For the Hornets, they get the familiar hexagon pattern resembling honeycombs. They also get “The Hive is Alive” along the sideline.

I think it’s an improvement from last year’s edition that featured a starkly contrasting stripe down the middle of the court that connected the opposing free throw lanes. There’s more subtlety this season.

The Hornets also get the court in their base color scheme. Last year’s court was based around the team’s mint and teal City jerseys. This year the team is sticking with their primary color scheme.
