The Hornets viewing experience is going to be different this season – At The Hive
[ad_1]
We’re only a few days away from the start of the NBA regular season and the debut of a new look Charlotte Hornets franchise. The last several months have seen an overhaul to the front office and coaching staff, and with those, a refreshed focus on changing and improving the perception of the organization.
All of the changes are going to be viewed by fans through a different lens. Bally Sports, and its parent company Diamond Sports Group, is being acquired by and rebranded as FanDuel Sports Network.
The sports betting giant will continue to broadcast local sports, including 13 NBA teams, which includes the Charlotte Hornets. They’ll also host their own programming which will probably have more appeal than the non-live sports content that currently gets shown on Bally (unless you like fishing and stuff). 80 of the Hornets 82 games will be on the new network.
FanDuel Sports Network will televise 80 @hornets regular-season games for the 2024-25 NBA season.

I don’t know where the other two will be, but it probably has to do with the Hornets’ plan to air five games on local broadcast channels this season.
It’s another step forward for the world of sports gambling, which is seemingly the most lucrative business on the planet with the way the companies are expanding their brands into everything that’s even just tangentially related to sports. Now there’s no escaping it when trying to tune into a Hornets game.
If you choose to go to a game instead, you’ll hear a new voice on the PA system. The Hornets have hired Shawn Parker to be the team’s new PA announcer after the tragic passing of Big Pat earlier this season.
We want to welcome Shawn Parker to the team as our new Public Address Announcer 🎙️ Get a first listen of Shawn during our first home game of the season on October 26th!

Parker previously served as the PA announcer for the Timberwolves and has experience as a game show host that I unfortunately can’t find anywhere.
