First Filipino food truck in Stanislaus County upgrades to brick-and-mortar restaurant

The first Filipino food truck to open in Stanislaus County has now opened up a brick-and-mortar restaurant.With the limited space in the food truck, the owners said it was time to expand.The Filipino Corner is serving authentic Filipino dishes, including popular barbeque sticks and ginisang upo.Outside of the new restaurant sits the old food truck, a visual reminder of the business’s path. Inside its new brick-and-mortar restaurant, patrons can find a dining space and people lining up to enjoy lots of different Filipino options. The chicken and pork adobo are some other favorites that customers enjoy. Along with all the food and culture inside it— there is even a karaoke machine.“The food truck is so limited and a small space and so we decided to have this big restaurant,” said co-owner Marisol Manipol. “We can offer them more so they will be satisfied and their heart will be full.”The other owner, Alma Timbreza, said she enjoys having another Filipino restaurant in the area.”There are a lot of Filipinos here,” she said.For those who have never tried Filipino cuisine before, the workers said there is something for everyone. “Maybe ask us the more common food and we’ll definitely recommend what’s good. I mean everything is good,” said Elizah Tumaneng an employee at Filipino Corner. The restaurant is now open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.The food truck is also still in service for events and catering. Do you have photos or video of an incident?
