CHP officer being evaluated after crash in Auburn

(FOX40.COM) — A crash in Auburn involved a California Highway Patrol motorcycle officer on Wednesday afternoon.

The CHP said at 2:24 p.m. that the crash happened near Nevada and Placer Streets, just north of I-80.

The agency said a motorcycle officer “sustained a complaint of pain” and was being evaluated by medical staff, and that no severe injuries had been reported.

The I-80 westbound offramp at Nevada St. was closed, as well as southbound Highway 49 to westbound I-80, the CHP said.

Pictures shared by the CHP show an agency helicopter that had landed on a nearby highway.
