Charlotte, North Carolina Local News
Low rain chances, higher humidity, and breezy
[ad_1]
Increasing rain chances into early next week.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. —
This Evening
Partly cloudy skies with an isolated shower possible. Temperatures will remain very and humid. Expect breezy conditions at times throughout the evening.
Tomorrow
Cloudy with spotty drizzle early Sunday. Expect more clouds than Saturday, yet temperatures will still warm to near 80. A slight chance for a few showers and wind gusts near 20 to 30 mph.
Stronger winds, more clouds, and rain along the coast due to a developing system offshore. The system will have an impact along the coast with increasing wave heights, beach erosion, and rip current risk.
Next Week
Unsettled weather will continue into early next week due to the low pressure near the coast as well as a nearby front. Expect cloudy skies at times and chances for rain through midweek. Rainfall totals will barely get to one inch for our eastern communities so this is NOT a huge impact.
Eventually, low pressure near the coast will begin to push inland by Tuesday. The center of circulation looks to stay north of the Charlotte area, which means we could mix in drier air that would lower our rain chances.
For now, we’re staying cautiously optimistic about the drier air and will keep fine-tuning the forecast over the next few days.
Tropical Update
The low mentioned above is still being monitored by the National Hurricane Center for possible tropical formation. It won’t change our local impacts, even if it does develop into a depression or storm.
However, that is looking less likely as of the latest updates. It has a low chance (40%) over the next two days and a medium chance (50%) over the next week. But by then… it would’ve already moved inland.
Elsewhere, Tropical Storm Gordon formed Friday way out in the central Atlantic. It is still far away from impacting land of any kind but our team will monitor closely.
