Police: McDonald’s drive-thru altercation leads to deadly shooting in Daytona Beach

One person is dead after a road rage shooting broke out at a local McDonald’s on Sunday, the Daytona Beach Police Department said. According to police, officers responded to the fast food restaurant on LPGA Boulevard in response to a call that someone had been shot. Upon arrival, officers found a man injured in the parking lot, and another woman performing CPR on him. Police say a man who was standing nearby approached the scene and identified himself as the person who shot the man.According to DBPD’s initial investigation, the shooting stemmed from a road rage incident that started in the McDonald’s drive-thru line. Officers did not specify what the argument was about, but say an altercation subsequently occurred in the parking lot between the two parties. Information about the altercation was not immediately made available, but the man who shot the victim said he “feared for his life.”The victim, identified as 30-year-old Brian Collins, was pronounced dead at the scene.
