AT&T delivers 'strong final offer' to Southeast striking union

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — As bargaining continues into the third week of a worker’s strike, AT&T made a new offer Thursday morning for CWA District 3 Southeast workers demanding better pay and benefits.

The phone, cable and internet provider said they are willing to offer a compound wage increase of 18% over five years, with a 5% pay raise going into effect upon ratification.

In their latest offer, AT&T said all of their wire technicians will get double-time pay for hours worked in excess of 54 hours per week, a lower cap on mandatory overtime and more advanced notice for schedule changes.

Additionally, AT&T said they are increasing financial contributions to employee healthcare and wellness by up to 25% per year. Some of the changes offered, which go into effect in 2026, include:

• Dependents covered until age 26 in medical, dental, and vision plans
• $0 copays for primary care and new fixed copays at the doctor’s office
• Company matches for Health Savings Account (HSA) contributions up to $2,000 for families, and $1,000 for individuals annually
• $750 in well-being incentives for employees, and with spouses/partners, up to a total of $1,500

“We remain committed to reaching a fair agreement that recognizes the work our employees do every day to serve our customers,” AT&T said on their website.
