2 people struck by gunfire on I-580

(KRON) – Two people in a vehicle were struck by gunfire on Interstate 580 on Saturday, according to the California Highway Patrol. 

At 2:11 p.m., CHP Oakland responded to a shooting eastbound on I-580 near Seminary Avenue, where they located the driver and the passenger shot. The victims were taken to separate hospitals that are “capable of providing a higher level of care”, according to CHP.

CHP Golden Gate Division Special Investigation Unit detectives have taken over the investigation.

All lanes of I-580 have reopened.
