Highway 50 reopens after street sweeper crashes partially off bridge

A street sweeper that was hanging off a freeway overpass in Sacramento following a crash Friday morning snarled traffic.CHP was dispatched around 6:56 a.m. to the scene on the westbound Highway 50 connector for northbound Interstate 5.Bumper-to-bumper traffic was reported on southbound I-5 from Capitol Mall to 6th Avenue, Caltrans District 3 said. All lanes were reopened and the roadway was cleared by 11:40 a.m. The sweeper was leaking a minimal amount of fluid, but CHP said it was not enough to warrant a hazardous material response.It was unclear what caused the crash or if anyone was injured.
