BART reports ‘major’ system-wide delays Friday
[ad_1]
(KRON) — BART is experiencing a “major” system-wide delay Friday night due to what they said came from an “equipment issue” near MacArthur station.
As of 8:30 p.m., BART said service stopped between Ashby, West Oakland, Rockridge, Lake Merritt, and Fruitvale stations.
AC Transit is providing mutual aid at the following stations, according to BART:
“Buses 62, 14 and 18 will serve West Oakland, 12th Street, Lake Merritt and Fruitvale Stations. Bus 72 will serve 12th Street & 19th Street and MacArthur Station,” BART said. Bus 51 will serve the Rockridge station. The F will serve Ashby.
No estimated time was provided for when service will be restored. BART told KRON4 they believe the issue is “electrical in nature.”
The transportation authority is telling riders to expect “major delays.”
Mountain View parents outraged by school district’s $189K meditation deal
This comes as a follow after three Oakland BART stations were experiencing “major delays” Friday night. BART said 12th Street, 19th Street, and MacArthur stations were out of order due to the same equipment issue at about 7:40 p.m.
This is a developing story. Stick with KRON4 for more updates.
