Man hospitalized after bear attack in Tuolumne County

TUOLUMNE COUNTY, Calif. — A man was taken to the hospital after being attacked by a bear in Tuolumne County Monday evening.
According to the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office, deputies and medical personnel responded to a reported bear attack along the 25000 block of North Fork Road in Long Barn just after 5 p.m.
By the time first responders arrived, the bear had left. The man was ultimately taken to a hospital for his injuries and the investigation was handed over to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife.
It’s not clear what led up to the attack.
