1 dead, 1 injured in shooting on La Riviera Drive in Sacramento, police say

One person was killed and another injured in a shooting on La Riviera Drive in College-Glen on Monday afternoon, the Sacramento Police Department said.Officers responded to the report of a shooting around 5:15 p.m. between Howe Avenue and Lido Circle.Officials said one man was found with a life-threatening gunshot wound. Responders performed life-saving measures, but the man died at the scene.Another man was found with a gunshot wound, officials said. He was taken to an area hospital where he is expected to recover.The police department said two persons of interest were detained in connection to the shooting.A KCRA 3 crew on the scene saw an SUV with windows that appeared to be shot out. “I tried running behind these bushes to hide from the shooter,” one witness told KCRA 3.”I don’t know if I’ve ever felt safe in this neighborhood but I definitely don’t now,” another witness said.La Riviera is expected to remain closed in the area for several hours, the police department said on Monday evening.
