COPA investigates shooting involving police officer on West Side

CHICAGO — An investigation is underway on Saturday after a shooting involving a police officer on the city’s West Side.
The Chicago Civilian Office of Police Accountability (COPA) said in a post on X just before 10 p.m. that it was responding to a shooting involving an officer near the 3800 block of West North Avenue.
COPA officials did not provide details on how many people were involved
Currently, it is unclear what led to the shooting or if anyone was injured.
COPA officials are asking anyone with information on the shooting to call 312-746-3609 or visit their office on the fourth floor at 1615 West Chicago Avenue.
