FORT MILL, S.C. — A Fort Mill pastor has been fired after a 27-year-old sexual misconduct conviction caught up to him.
The Indiana Department of Corrections records show that Pastor Don Logan was convicted in 1997 of felony sexual misconduct with a then 14-year-old girl. Logan was just shy of 30 years old at the time. He served 18 months behind bars.
Even though Logan has been pastoring at Eternal in Fort Mill for ten years, it appears he just registered as a sex offender in South Carolina in April of this year.
Eternal revealed Logan’s conviction to its congregation last Sunday. One church member spoke out, but didn’t want to be identified.
“I think they’re taking the right steps now to address it and to have Pastor Don step down,” said the church goer who did not want to be named. “But, I think it’s just going to take time, and I think there’s probably a lot more transparency that’s needed.”
Multiple attempts to contact church leaders have not received a response. Eternal leaders did email their members to say service will resume as normal this Sunday and that plans for the future will be announced at that time.
