Scattered rain on the way on Friday

Hot and humid air returns this weekend.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. —

Tonight:

Increasing humidity and a few clouds will rise into the Friday morning. Then we start to see scattered showers and downpours developing from east to west as the morning progresses. Lows tonight are in the low 70s, and the chance of rain is near 30%. 

Friday:

This will be the “coolest” day of the week, with highs in the mid to upper 80s.  Look for scattered showers and a few thunderstorms. Showers and scattered thunderstorms are possible during the evening.

Weekend and hotter notes:

  • Highs will return to the low to mid 90s this weekend
  • It will feel muggy again starting Friday and through the weekend
  • Scattered storms possible both Saturday and Sunday with a lingering stalled front
  • Monday and Tuesday will be in the upper 90s with the Heat Index around 105.
  • Heat Advisories are likely by early next week.

Next Week:

Another heat wave is coming with highs Monday through Wendesday near 100 with feel like readings near 105.
