Heat Advisory for the area today

CHARLOTTE, N.C. —

Today

A Heat Advisory is in effect. The high today will be in the mid 90s, with a Heat Index around 105.   There’s a slight chance of a few scattered to isolated showers and thunderstorms.  Temperatures overnight will only fall  into the mid 70s.

Wednesday

Look for mostly sunny skies with highs again in the mid 90s and a slight chance of a few showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening.  Overnight, temperatures will be in the low to mid 70s.

Tropical Update

Beryl is now a Tropical Depression moving towards Arkansas with winds around 35 mph. Strong storms, including tornadoes are in the forecast for the deep south today. In addition, heavy rain will affect the area as well.  Up to five inches of rain is possible today.
