McMahon voted to National League All-Star team

DENVER (KDVR) — Major League Baseball announced the complete roster for the 2024 All-Star Game on Sunday. The Colorado Rockies’ third baseman Ryan McMahon was voted to the National League team in a player ballot.
This is 29-year-old McMahon’s first All-Star selection in his career.
McMahon was drafted out of Mater Dei High School in California in the second round of the 2013 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft.
As of before the game Sunday, according to a release from the Colorado Rockies, McMahon leads all National League third basemen in on-base percentage (.349) and ranks No. 2 in batting average (.272), hits (90), runs scored (47), slugging percentage (.456), OPS (.805) and total bases (151).
McMahon leads all third basemen in the National League for total chances (258), assists (198) and defensive bWAR (0.8, min. 75% games at third base) and is tied for first in defensive runs saved (five, min. 500 innings).
Additionally, McMahon has been named a Rawlings Gold Glove finalist for the past three years.
He has made his mark on the franchise’s history too. McMahon ranks No. 6 in dWAR (8.4), No 10 in games played (844) and tied for No. 12 with Brad Hawpe in home runs (118), according to the release.
He will be the fourth Rockies third-baseman selected for the honor, joining Vinny Castilla (1995, 1998), Jeff Cirillo (2000) and Nolan Arenado (2015-19).
The 2024 All-Star Game will be played at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas on July 16 at 10 p.m. Mountain time.
